JINDO CARE TIPS

1. Jindos require enough space to run and exercise everyday.

2. One should only get a Jindo if one has a fenced yard at least 6 ft high

3. Jindos have high prey drive. It is not recommended not to introduce Jindos to other dominant animals since this behavior is only going to start dog fights.

4. Whenever you feel that your Jindos are out of control, it is strongly advised to enroll them in obedience school at 6 months old to avoid future liability.

5. Due to the strength and potential dog/prey aggressiveness of this medium-sized dog, a Jindo will probably be better suited to a household without infants or young children.

6. A Jindo will shed profusely twice year (fur falls out in clumps).   Brushing will be required during those times. Warm baths followed by a blow dry seems to speed up this process.

7. Since Jindos are known as independent thinkers, they will never be reliable off-leash. Make sure that they be kept on-leash whenever out in public.

JINDO PUPPIES CARE TIPS

1. Jindo puppies are avid chewers.  Expect to become an expert at cleaning up vomit or rushing to the emergency animal clinic. They'll eat anything (paper, plastic, plants). So make sure you give plenty of food and drinks.

2. "Forget a good night sleep!" This is a true statement. Puppies tend to whine and cries at night when they are lonely or in need to "take care" of their business. This is very natural.

3. Most young Jindos are very hyper and will need to be played with before they settle down. Puppies will fight among each other at 4 months old. This is very natural.

4. Jindo puppies need their series of puppy shots and fecals, then their rabies shot, then a trip to be neutered/altered (recommended before they reach  6 months). An emergency trip or two are needed if they've chewed something dangerous.

5. Be a responsible owner. Do not adopt/ buy Jindos younger than 8 weeks old!  Disctinct personalities of Jindo puppies are easier to be seen at 7-8 weeks, so it is easier to choose a Jindo that fits your preference and experience. For example, don't pick the most outgoing puppy if you never had experience with dominant dogs

6. Finally, get yourself educated about the breed before buying one.  You're going to spend next 15 years or so with the Jindo you're going to get.

7.Jindos are not any kinds of dogs. They are loyal guard and hunting dogs. They are very intelligent, highly independent, and not to mention, aggressive towards strangers/ other dogs. Thus, early trainings are recommended to avoid any liabilities in the future.
